10.10.1 Dashboard
When you sit in the driver's seat, the so-called instrument panel is situated in front of you. On this panel there are pointers, indicators and signaling indicators that fully reflect work of all systems of the car - from the engine and to wheels (in case if the system of monitoring of pressure in tires is installed in the car). The appearance of the instrument panel may change from model to model. But the basic pointers, indicators and signaling indicators are unchanged, and we will consider them below. Figure 10.14 shows an image of the instrument panel for example.

This indicator lights up when the ignition key is turned to the "ON" position. It will switch off in approx. 6 seconds. This determines the normal operation of the airbag system. The following signs indicate a malfunction of the elements controlled by the indicator circuit. An inspection of the car at the service station is required:
The ABS indicator lights on when the key in the ignition lock is switched to the "ON" position. In case of normal operation of the anti-lock braking system, the indicator switches off after a few seconds. In case of a system fault, the ABS indicator lights up again.
