Operations to be performed to keep the vehicle in good working order

11.2.1 When refueling the vehicle

• Check the engine oil level (on a cold engine).
• Check the coolant level in the tank (on a cold engine).
• Check the fluid level in the windshield washer tank.
• Make sure that all tires are inflated to normal pressure.
• Check the state of radiator of the engine cooling system and the radiator of the air conditioning system. Make sure they are not excessively contaminated, not clogged with leaves, insects, etc.

Attention
Be careful while checking the coolant level on a hot engine. Hot coolant and steam that come out of the tank under pressure can cause burns or other injuries.

11.2.2 During vehicle operation

• Be aware of any changes in the exhaust sound, as well as the appearance of the smell of exhaust gases in the cabin.
• Be aware of the steering wheel vibrations. Pay attention to the increase in the effort, which is required to turn the steering wheel, the appearance of backlash in the steering wheel, changing its neutral position.
• Pay attention to whether there is a constant small "shift" of the car to one side when driving on a smooth level road.
• During braking, listen to the sound of operation of the car's systems, pay attention to the appearance of unusual sounds, shift to one side increase the travel of the brake pedal or increase the force when you press it.
• In case of an incorrect gear selection or any change in the operation of the transmission, check the transmission fluid level.
• Check the operation of the manual transmission, including the operation of the clutch.
• Check the operation of the automatic transmission in "P" ("Parking") mode.
• Check the operation of the parking brake system.
• Make sure there are no traces of liquid leaks under the bottom of the car (water dripping from the air conditioning system during operation or after switching off is not a sign of a fault).

11.2.3 At least once a month

• Check the level of coolant in the expansion tank.
• Check the operation of all external lighting devices, including brake lights, direction lamps and alarm lamps.
• Check the air pressure in all tires, including the spare wheel.

11.2.4 At least twice a year (every spring and fall)

• Check the state of flexible hoses of the radiator, heater and air conditioner for leaks and damage.
• Check the operation of the windscreen washer and wiper. Clean the wiper blades with a piece of clean cloth dampened with flushing fluid.
• Check headlight adjustment.
• Check muffler, exhaust pipes, housings and clamps.
• Make sure that the seat belts are not worn and are functioning properly. 
• Make sure that the tires are not worn out and that the wheel nuts are properly tightened.

11.2.5 At least once a year

• Clean through the drainage holes in the car body and doors.
• Lubricate the hinges and door opening stops as well as the hood hinges.
• Lubricate door and hood locks and latches.
• Lubricate the rubber door seals.
• Check the working order of the air conditioning system before the start of the warm season.
• Check the fluid level of the power steering.
• Check the condition and lubricate the mechanical controls of the automatic transmission.
• Clean the battery pack and its terminals.
• Check the brake fluid level.
