Glass cleaners and washers. Purpose and principle of operation

10.9.1 Glass cleaners

Wipers are necessary for timely and high-quality cleaning of glass from water and dirt during the rain in order to maintain the possibility of car movement. In case if it's just raining, the wipers do the job themselves. But in case if you are driving on a busy road and your car is covered with mud and water with enviable regularity, the wipers will just spread the dirt, covering the entire windshield in an even layer and concealing the road from your eyes. Then a washer comes to the rescue, which sprays a special liquid through the sprayers. By rinsing the dirt with liquid, the wipers remove it from the windshield.

10.9.2 Glass washer

Wipers are driven by an electric motor through a system of pendulum levers (shown in Figure 10.13). As a rule, there are several modes of operation of wipers.

10.9.3 Glass washer system

The windscreen washer system is a liquid tank with a built-in electric pump and windscreen sprays. The pump and nozzles are connected by hoses. They pull the steering lever, turn on the electric motor of the pump and spray the liquid on the windscreen - everything is very simple.

10.9.4 Detergents

Always use special detergents for the washer. First, there will be no stains on the windscreen. Secondly, in winter, ordinary water at freezing temperatures can freeze and, when you try to use a washer, the corresponding fuse will burn out (at best). At the same time special liquid contains special additives that prevent it from freezing in the cold.
