The location of the steering mechanism on the sub frame relative to the imaginary axis of the steered wheels is of great importance. Thus, the installation of the steering gear behind the front axle or in front of it can eventually dramatically change the behavior of the vehicle on the road. Thus, the designers while designing a car consider this issue very seriously.
