5.2.3 Clutch device
Clutch is the initial and one of the most important elements of the entire manual transmission. This is a coupling, which is designed for connecting and disconnecting two separate shafts. The appearance of a regular clutch is shown in Figure 5.2.

The clutch consists of two discs (shown in Figures 5.3 and 5.4): one of them is pressure disk (driving), the second is driven disk (friction). The pressure disk is installed in the casing on the flywheel, which, in turn is attached to the engine crankshaft. The driven disc is installed on the splines of the input shaft of the gearbox and has the ability to move along the splines of this shaft.
