5.1.2 Transmission elements
The following are the elements of which the car's transmission may consist. Thus, it consists of a clutch or torque converter (if the transmission is automatic), a gearbox (mechanical or automatic), a driveshaft (or shafts) with hinges of equal or unequal angular speeds and the drive gear together with a differential.
Note
The main difference between an automatic transmission and a manual transmission is that the driver does not need to be distracted by the transmission control, since it does everything by itself. It should also be understood that the terms "automatic" or "automated transmission" mean the appropriate control of the operation of the transmission. Thus gears, shafts, etc., for example,in an automated transmission, they may not differ in any way from those in a manual transmission, but such a gearbox will be controlled automatically.
